"Don't wake me, I plan on sleeping in..."
Okay, I woke up this morning around 7 a.m. and got ready to take Nora
out for some rowing. We got there around 9. It didn't start off too
great. First of all, the dock was flooded, so we had to take off our
shoes and socks and carry the double through the water so we could get
on the dock without getting our clothes wet. THE WATER WAS FREEZING!!
And our feet got numb very quickly. After a little bit of walking, I
was trying to decide whether the pain on my feet were from the
numbness and cold weather or from the jagged rocks I was walking on.
Anyhoo, we got on the dock and realized that the strokes oar locks were
missing. (For you non-rowers out there, stroke means the front person,
and an oar lock holds the oar {a paddle} in place as you row.) So we
had to take the blue double back and get the red double. That means we
had to walk over the rocks and through the water in our bare feet once
again.
FINALLY, we pushed off the dock and started rowing. I taught her how to
row. I also showed her the course that we race on in the spring and the
grand stands where the parents sit and the place where all the rowers
hang out when they aren't racing. It was cold and windy, but very
pretty. I had so much fun. I am definitely going to take her again. But
next time, I am going to make Scott and Katie come too. YAY!
So I drove Nora home, went home, scarfed down some food, and then left
again to go rake leaves at someone's house for 3 hours. Darn
"rent-a-rower" for crew. Oh well. It wasn't THAT bad.
Now I am home again, and I actually get to relax. So....THE PLAY LAST
NIGHT WAS AWESOME!!!! It was great. I would encourage everyone that
reads this to go see it, but by then it will probably be too late, and
some of you don't even live near me. TOO BAD FOR YOU!! Byron was
awesome. I am going to make him re-enact that monolgue for me in class
on Monday. He is definitely headed for Hollywood.
And, I got a B in English, so not too bad. If you add the 0.5 for each
AP class I am taking, I have a 4.0 for the first quarter. Go me!
Hopefully I get into UVa. KEEP CROSSING YOUR FINGERS!!
My plans for today are as follows:
1. workout a little
2. take a shower
3. compete in the Sunday Contest for the first time in two months/ practice cubing
4. do some homework
5. finish reading Anthem by Ayn Rand (A very good book!)
6. play Halo 2 <=====VERY IMPORTANT!!
7. change my Magic the Gathering decks. I don't really like how they
are set up right now, so I am going to make three new ones. (yes, I
play MTG)
That is a lot of stuff. WOW. I am looking forward to it.
VERY DEEP THOUGHTS BELOW.......
But before I go, I must describe a conversation with someone I had today while I was raking....
We were raking and the person I was raking with says, "Woah! Deja vu!"
as he is picking up a pile of leaves to place in the trash bag. Then we
begin talking about deja vu (I am not sure about the spelling. Correct
me if I am wrong.) You know that feeling you get when you experience
deja vu? That light headed kind of feeling? Sometimes you get a feeling
in your gut? Well, if you don't thats okay, because I do. It is some
kind of physical feeling you get. It is hard to explain, but if you
have ever experienced deja vu (which I have many times) you will know
what feeling I am talking about. It is that feeling that makes you
think you have been there or done something before. Well, I was
wondering if deja vu is more a chemical reaction or physical feeling
you get that just makes you BELIEVE you are doing something for the
second time. I wonder if you could create that same feeling whenever
you wanted. Is there some kind of pill that could be created to spark
that "random" chemical reaction (if there is one at all)? I smell a
science project....mmmm.....science project. I am going to go research
deja vu. So now add: "8. reasearch deja vu" to my list.
wow, that was long.

Hey, guess what everyone!!! I'm BACK!!
It has been way too long. Here I go...
Right now, I am at my mom's office after a good two hours of wrestling practice, which consists of running and lifting. My lifting has gotten better (thankfully). Running is okay. I still don't like it, but whatever. I don't have practice on Friday either because the wrestling season is starting next week. FUN FUN! YAY for having no life again. Hopefully, I get into UVa early (I find out December 1st) and then I can stop worrying about school so much. I really want to go there. It would be really cool if both Byron and I got in their early decision. Cross your fingers for us. COUNTDOWN:: 21 DAYS!!
As for rowing, meh. This year is going to be very awkward. I guess Anne was right when she said, "when you become a senior, you really begin to notice how the underclassmen act." (Or it was something to that effect.) BUTTTT, I am taking Nora rowing (actually, sculling) on Saturday. IT WILL BE SOOO MUCH FUN!! I can't wait! I really hope there isn't a regatta like last time. ANNDDD, she better take me climbing, 'cause it seems really cool.
Any hoo, school is going quite fantabulous. My grades for the first quarter are as follows:
Physics Honors= A
AP Calculus BC= B+
Spanish 4= A
AP Statictics= A
AP English 12= ??? (I am nervous about this one)
Sports Medicine= B+
AP Government= A
They are a lot better than I thought they would be, so I am happy. Kind of like this =====>
What next...? OH! I am helping my mom with her office over the past few weeks because I am a good boy . I am helping her network her computers and connecting them to all of her printers and plotters. We went to Microcenter (one of my favorite stores) and we bought two Ethernet ports to install with a Crossover Cable; a USB router so we can connect all the printers and plotters; and a few USB cables. Then, I went and asked my friend Chris (who knows a lot aobut computers) how I could install the Ethernet ports, because I had never done that before. He told me he might be able to help me out. He also informed me that I might be able to return the USB router and connect everything wirelessly by using the ISP addresses or something. I may know about computers, but wireless stuff is a little confusing for me. I kind of get it, but not enough to do it on my own. Hopefully, he will help me out.
My cubing has decreased since my last entry, so I haven't gotten much faster. BUT, I started practicing as of two days ago. Everthing is starting to come back to me. The Rubik's Cube Club is almost under way. I am going to the Activites Office to pick up the forms for this constitution thing I have to write for the club in order to make it official. I am really excited.
INTERMISSION**LISTEN TO HOPES AND FEARS BY KEANE. IT IS A GREAT CD!!**
OH!! Halo 2 came out!! I am not THAT big of a fan, but I like it nonetheless. I really want to play it. Hopefully I can play it this weekend, or maybe even this friday!! YIPPY!
So last week, on Friday (or was it Saturday??) I went over to Max's house and Nora, Hoban, Jay, and Edward came over also. First we went into the basement and Hoban and I wrestled. Just to give you an idea of what I was up against, Hoban is 225 pounds, and I only weigh 159. He had a weight advantage. But, I still pinned him and took him down a couple of times. He did use his weight advantage and swung me around in circles for a little until I got dizzy, which is also fun. Then we played pool and ping-pong (Hoban beat me since he plays tennis). Afterwards, we went upstairs and played Magic the Gathering (I beat Hoban), Halo, Soul Caliber, and Super Smash Brothers (for N64 and GameCube). It was a fun times.
Well, it seems as if I can't think of anything else to type. Oh well, I think this is good enough for now. I am going to try and update more. The key word in that sentence is "TRY." | | |

Here is another short entry:
New fastest average == 36.89 (im not 100% sure on the .89 part, but you get the idea)
That was about 3 days ago; I think. Anyways, that was without using the
F2Ls I was memorizing. Hopefully I have gotten even faster.
Someone timed me today, and they said it took me 45 seconds (I was
using the F2L algorithms) and I was going really slow, too. I didn't
try at all. Hopefully that means that if I DID try while using F2Ls, I
could get it sub-35 seconds. THAT ROCKS!!!
I am also starting a Rubik's Cube Club in my school. tiZIGHT!
(what a dork...lol.) From the responses I'm getting, I am predicting
about 10-20 members; which is awesome for a new club! BOO YAH!
Wrestling is fun.
Of course, I am busy with school work. My classes are very fun. I enjoy
all of them. I got really lucky this year. Everything is going well.
And most importantly, don't forget that:
SAAM ROCKS!!
